Guided Meditations
Healing Through Compassion
Welcome. In a world that is constantly moving, we often forget that true peace does not come from outside of us—it arises from within. The stillness we seek is not found in the absence of movement, but in the presence of awareness. In this meditation, we will journey into that stillness, into the quiet space beyond the mind and beyond thought, where the soul rests in its true essence. Here, in the embrace of stillness, healing happens naturally. You need only surrender to it.
Sample Meditation
-
Begin by sitting comfortably or lying down in a quiet space. Gently close your eyes and allow your body to settle. Take a deep, cleansing breath in through your nose, filling your lungs completely. Hold it for a moment, and then exhale softly through your mouth, releasing any tension in your body.
Repeat this a few more times, each time allowing yourself to sink deeper into relaxation. Feel the weight of your body being fully supported, the surface beneath you holding you gently, effortlessly.
Now, allow your breath to flow naturally. Simply observe the gentle rise and fall of your chest and abdomen as you breathe. With each inhale, feel yourself becoming more grounded in the present moment. With each exhale, let go of any lingering thoughts, worries, or expectations. Let them dissolve as you drift into the stillness that lies within.
-
So often, we find ourselves caught in the need to control—control our thoughts, our emotions, our surroundings. But in this moment, you are invited to release that need. There is nothing to control, nothing to manage. You are exactly where you need to be, in the perfect place for healing and peace to unfold naturally.
As you continue to breathe, imagine that with each exhale, you are letting go of the need for control. You are releasing any resistance that may be present in your mind or body. Let go of the desire to change or fix anything. In this space, there is nothing to do but to be.
Silently repeat to yourself:
"I release control. I surrender to the stillness within."Feel the truth of these words echo throughout your being, inviting a sense of peace and openness.
-
Now, gently bring your awareness to the space beyond your thoughts. Imagine that your thoughts are like clouds in the sky—constantly shifting, coming and going. But you are not the clouds; you are the sky itself—vast, open, and unchanging.
As you observe your thoughts, simply notice them without attachment. Allow them to pass without judgment, like clouds drifting across the sky. You don’t need to chase them or push them away. Simply watch them come and go, knowing that beneath them is the quiet, still space of your true self.
As you rest in this space beyond thought, silently repeat:
"I am not my thoughts. I am the stillness beneath them."Let these words guide you deeper into the stillness that exists within you, beyond the mind, beyond thought. Feel yourself sinking into this stillness, as if you are resting in the most peaceful part of your being.
-
Now that you have entered the space beyond thought, allow yourself to fully rest here. There is no need to strive or to seek. This stillness is not something you need to achieve—it is your natural state of being. It is the essence of who you are.
As you rest in this stillness, notice how your body feels. Notice the softening of any tension, the release of any tightness. In this space, healing happens effortlessly. Your body and mind are returning to their natural state of balance and harmony, without any effort on your part.
Feel the peaceful awareness of your true self—the self that is always present, always whole, and always at peace. This is the stillness that underlies all of life, the quiet center of your being.
Silently repeat:
"I am stillness. I am peace. I am whole."Allow these words to resonate within you, anchoring you in the deep stillness that is always available to you.
-
Now, gently expand your awareness outward. Feel the stillness within you radiating out to fill the space around you. As it expands, it touches everything in your environment—the air, the earth, the sounds—and brings them into harmony with your inner peace.
Imagine this stillness spreading even further, connecting you to all beings, to the entire universe. In this moment, you are one with the stillness that flows through all things. There is no separation, no boundaries—only the infinite peace of stillness.
As you rest in this expanded awareness, silently repeat:
"Stillness is everywhere. I am one with all that is."Feel the truth of these words deep in your heart, knowing that this stillness is not just within you but within everything. It is the essence of life itself.
-
As we begin to bring this meditation to a close, know that the stillness you have touched in this practice is always within you. It is not something that disappears when the meditation ends—it is a constant, unwavering presence, always available to you.
Gently begin to deepen your breath, feeling the life force filling your body with each inhale. Wiggle your fingers and toes, slowly bringing movement back into your body. When you feel ready, open your eyes softly, taking a moment to sit in the stillness and peace that you have cultivated.
Before you move, take a few moments to reflect on the stillness within you. Carry this peace with you throughout your day, knowing that you can return to this space of stillness whenever you choose.
Closing Thought
Remember, true peace is not something you need to chase. It is something you discover within yourself, in the stillness that lies beyond the mind. As you go forward, let this stillness guide you. Let it remind you that no matter what is happening around you, there is always a place of peace within you—a place where healing happens effortlessly, where you are whole, and where you are at peace.
You are stillness. You are peace. You are whole.
