ABOUT ME
A Journey into Healing and Self-Discovery
Who I am
I am Bill Edmonds, and my journey has taken me across fields of emotional depth, spiritual healing, and intellectual exploration.
My life’s work has been dedicated to guiding others toward that truth, helping them reconnect with their inner wisdom and awaken the transformative power that resides in every one of us.
Over the years, I have become a vessel for ancient wisdom and modern understanding, merging the two into a practice that allows individuals to experience profound personal growth and liberation from suffering.
I do this work because I believe in the infinite potential that resides in each of us. I believe that we are here not to struggle endlessly against the current, but to learn to flow with it, to dance with life’s rhythms, and to realize the deep peace that comes from living in alignment with our true nature.
When we quiet the noise of the external world and look inward, we begin to see that the source of our suffering is not in our circumstances, but in the ways we interpret and react to them. My role is to help you see beyond these interpretations, to witness your life from a higher perspective, and to unlock the inner peace and joy that are always available to you.
The Journey So Far
My journey began many years ago as I sought answers to the deeper questions of life: What is the nature of suffering? How do we heal from pain that seems etched into the very fabric of our being? What does it mean to truly awaken? These questions led me through both the halls of academia and the sacred spaces of indigenous healing traditions.
Along the way, I explored the intersection of trauma, morality, and consciousness, particularly in contexts of war and personal suffering.
In 2011, I published God Is Not Here, a memoir born from my experience in Iraq, exploring the complexities of moral injury. This work, along with essays such as After Moral Injury and contributions to War and Moral Injury: A Reader, helped me and others grapple with the existential wounds left by conflict and human suffering. But it was not enough to observe and analyze; I needed to find a path toward healing.
In 2018, my doctoral dissertation, A Compassionate Nudge, dove into how we can gently push ourselves and others toward transformation. This body of work laid the foundation for The Practice of Yes, a synthesis of ancient techniques and modern insights designed to guide individuals through emotional, spiritual, and behavioral changes.
My work extends beyond personal practice and into the broader sphere of thought leadership and written expression. In my writings—whether through essays like The Ugly American in Iraq or After Moral Injury—I explore the deeper questions of human experience, trauma, and healing. My most recent media work includes an appearance in the Apple+TV investigative docuseries You Can’t Unring the Bell, where I further delve into the complexities of moral injury and healing.
These works are but small reflections of the larger mission I carry—to help individuals, like yourself, awaken to their fullest potential.
My Philosophy
We are not separate beings navigating a chaotic universe; rather, we are expressions of the same cosmic intelligence, manifesting in diverse forms. This understanding underpins everything I do. The work I facilitate is not about fixing what is "broken," but rather about remembering the wholeness that has always existed within you.
The challenges, traumas, and emotional blockages you face are not punishments or obstacles—they are opportunities. They are invitations from the universe to transform, to transcend, and to realize the boundless potential within.
Let’s Journey Together
I invite you to step into this sacred space with me. Whether you are seeking to heal from past wounds, to discover deeper meaning in your life, or to simply cultivate a state of inner peace, the path is the same.
The Practice of Yes offers you the tools to transform, to transcend, and to thrive. Together, we will explore the edges of your consciousness, uncover the truth that lies within, and bring forth the beauty of your authentic self.
